Neoferma Gasket Uses

Description and Application of Neoferma Gasket

The Neoferma gasket is suitable for sealing all types of joints. It is extremely flexible, consisting of hollow sections terminating in individual lips.

Neoferma gasket is easily compressed and maintains close contact with concrete, steel, glass or wood surfaces. This ensures complete sealing of the joint.

Water and Weather tightness

The gaskets have been tested successfully to a hydrostatic pressure of ten metres and in buildings more than 100m high with a wind velocity of 160km/hour developing a pressure of 130 kg/m2 and for buildings 160-320m high with a wind pressure of 180 kg/m2.

Sound Insulation

These gaskets exhibit excellent insulation against airborne sound.

Thermal Insulation

A single gasket will provide good thermal insulation but in cases where the standard required is very exacting a system of double gaskets (inside and outside of joint) is recommended.

Material

The Neoferma gasket can be manufactured from EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) or neoprene or similar synthetic rubber.

Colours are available to meet design criteria (subject to minimum quantity).

These rubbers have been in use for nearly 50 years and have an unrivalled record of durability under all kinds of conditions, including a temperature range of -35C to + 90C. Life expectancy for EPDM is 25years and for silicon rubber, 50 years
